Summary[]

Milly writes a letter to her family and because of it sleeps in the following day. Meryl rebukes Milly for sleeping in, but Milly claims that she did it because she wrote to her family. To her, it's well worth the trouble as they tend to send her presents from time to time. Meanwhile, a commotion from outside is heard and who else would it involve.

Vash and a couple of old people are involved with a confrontation with a young man using a gun against the elderly couple. After the old man disparages the young man calling him a fat-lipped golem, Vash readies his gun. He's sequentially stopped by Meryl and Milly who take control of the situation. Their actions, however, cause a building to collapse on the man and they call it a necessary sacrifice. Afterward, the two are hired by the elderly couple to act as their bodyguards, much to Meryl's dismay. Heading to the elderly couple's land, it's revealed to be a geo plant. Originally the plant life that originated there was but a bud. However, due to the couple cultivating the land for over 20 years it became the lush green lands to what it is that day. As to why the couple hired them, the old man reveals that the landowner named Morgan wants them to turn over the deed, but the couple always refuses. To prevent further altercations with Morgan, the couple plan on turning the deed over city hall to reserve the rights for their patch of land.

That night, three men also help out all of whom were once children that played on the grounds as kids. When asked about Vash's whereabouts it's revealed that he was sent back to town by Meryl. As she goes outside for her shift, she finds a drawing of the elderly couple and a young boy. Meryl tries to touch it, but the old man plants it face down. Outside, Milly and Meryl soon encounter the man they confronted back in the town who's revealed to be the elderly couple's son. Although the son wants to negotiate with his parents, Milly gets apprehensive with her fists. The old man comes from the house to see what the commotion is about and sees that his son named Badwick had arrived.

Closeby to the house, Morgan reprimands a group of four bounty hunters for their incompetence. Furthermore, he's irritated why Badwick hasn't killed his parents yet for the deed to their land. At that moment, Patricia and Marilyn of the Nebraska Family arrive. Back in the house, Badwick argues with his father over the deed. Soon, Kanta Nebraska crash lands on the property and retreats back to his mother for another round. Sequentially after Marilyn makes a big speech about being "invincible" Patricia readies to throw Chinpei at the grounds. As this goes on, the four bounty hunters with their guns blazing head onto the grounds. Wasting no time, the elderly ready themselves to make their move. In order to stop further damage from the Nebraska Family, the old man confronts Morgan and when given an offer by the nefarious landowner, he subtly rejects it. So to accommodate the old man's request, Morgan proclaims he'll kill him and everyone else there that's involved. A desperate and nervous Milly with her gun defends the old man and his group and Meryl stands up for them too. Disconcerted, Badwick takes the deed from the back of the drawing and riding on his motorcycle off the grounds and heads to the city. Patricia then throws Chinpei at him, but Meryl manages to shoot him out of the air. However, it's revealed to have been Vash who managed to do it as thanks for helping him on the Sandsteamer.

Although Morgan claims that Meryl just had a lucky shot, he then notices that the Nebraska Family is overcome with Melancholy over it. Apparently, their "invincible" reputation was shattered and when Morgan reprimands them, he's crushed under Patricia's knees. Due to the circumstances, the four bounty hunters leave Morgan. Switching over to the old man who claims he pulled something, he thanks the insurance girls for their help and offers Meryl a piece of advice. Finally, Badwick reaches the town and when he turns in the deed to City Hall the clerk there reveals that it was in his name.

The following day, both Meryl and Milly are late for their bus because Meryl decided to write to her parents back home the night before.
