The area is designed to look like a lush green paradise with a flowing river a tree and flowers.

Afterward, the captain of the ship explains to the boys about the origin planet Earth and how the carelessness of Humanity caused it to make it uninhabitable. Sometime after this talk, the captain laments on how he's such an awful parental figure and how Rem is so much better in that department than he. Rem, however, believes contrary. On the control room of the ship, a member known as Steve has a snit that Vash and Knives completely his work that would have taken him 2 days to accomplish. He even calls them both monsters and later beats Vash out his jealous frustration. Knives consoles Vash telling him he has to man up. A flashback shows that when Vash and Knives were found, the crew wanted to kill them, but stopped them.

Time passes by and Vash gets his hair cut by Rem who models the style after an old friend of hers named Alex. When its Knives turn to get his haircut, he's nowhere to be found. Vash, however, manages to find him in a room and notices he cut his own hair. In Knives' own words he did it to differentiate them so now there's individuality. While some of the crew enjoy lunch in the cafeteria, Steve causes a scene with Mary and is told off by Knives. Eventually, Steve is held on trial for raping Mary, but although he maintains his innocence, he's put into cryogenic freezing.

Later, Rolan not only confesses his feelings toward Mary who rejects them, but also admits that he tampered with Steve's cryogenic tube that made him die. Gunshots are then heard and once Rem, Vash, and Knives go to the location of the shots; Rolan stands before the dead Mary with a gun in his hand for rejecting his feelings. Deducing that Knives is the cause of the entire situation, Rolan points his gun at Knives, but Rem gets in the way of his line of fire. Rem confronts Rolan all while trying to console him and have him throw away the gun. She fails, however, as the captain who was watching the scene partway through, opens up the emergency hatch that launches Rolan and Mary into space. This event leaves Rem distraught and the captain named Joey feels pensive. Knives then approaches Joey and tries to console him only to shoot him and then alter the ship and the many other ships course to the new planet.

Soon Rem and Vash catch wind of this news, and Knives informs that it was Rolan who started up the orbital program. Ultimately, Rem decides that they need to get to the escape pods, and when they reach there, Rem decides to stay behind to find Joey and save the others. Although against Vash's behest, Rem stays behind and activates the escape pod to the planet. Knives then reveal to Vash that he's responsible for the entire occurrence, furthermore, he also set the ships carrying the humans to crash land on the planet. However, due to Rem recalibrating the orbital program allowing the ships to safely land on the planet.
