Twenty years before the current story line

Gasback committed a robbery with his accomplices Cain and Michio. Unbeknownst to them, Vash was withheld captive with the employees of the bank. After the robbery, Gasback is betrayed by Cain, but saved by Vash.

Twenty years after the incident with Gasback in the Bank

In a quicksand surrounded town called Macca City, rumors spread of the legendary Gasback attacking the town. To protect it, Mayor Kepler placed a bounty on Gasback for $$300,000,000 and attracted hundreds of bounty hunters, all hoping to collect the bounty.

Vash the Stampede is in town, along with Meryl and Milly, along with the bounty hunter Amelia and Nicolas D. Wolfwood.

Vash the Stampede

Vash tbr

Also known as the "Humanoid Typhoon", he has a bounty of $$60,000,000,000.00. Twenty years prior to the storyline of Badlands Rumble, he became involved in Gasback's robbery.

Nicolas D. Wolfwood

Nicolas protecting Gasback Badlands Rumble

He is a priest that was saved by Gasback when his money was not accepted by a water vending machine. As payback, he became Gasback's bodyguard until his plan of great robbery ends. Reaching the climax, Nicolas teamed up with Amelia in recovering the Plant Gasback stole.

A beautiful young bounty hunter who first meets Vash on board a Sand Steamer on her way to Macca City where Gasback is rumored to strike next. She soon tags along with Vash (more or less) and during a dream it is revealed, that her mother's death was related to Gasback. Later on, she tries to kill Gasback but Vash interferes. She then blames Vash for her mother's death, since Vash also saved Gasback 20 years ago. Later, after a duel between Gasback and Vash, she reveals herself as Gasback's daughter. But she is inspired by Vash and adopts his rhetoric, choosing not to take revenge on her father, since she also no longer believes that her mother would want that.

Gasback (20 years younger)

He is a deadly thief who is shown in the first scene, who had been betrayed by his Gang during a bank robbery 20 years prior to the events of the film. Vash saves him and thus makes a decision to "roll the dice" since saving him would also mean that he would rob and probably kill again. Twenty years later he wants to enact revenge on his former associates by stealing everything they gained during the 20 years they hid. He is Amelia's father, but he only learns of this after being defeated by Vash.

  • It is likely the movie Badlands Rumble takes place in the middle of the Anime, taking place right before the episode where Vash pretends to be Erics.
